This korean drama series made its way to Malaysian TV some long time ago (2008, maybe 2009 bcoz the production year of the show was 2008), but I only managed to watch a few episodes. I liked the show, but knowing that I couldn't have had the time to watch it everyday, I stopped doing so. And being the person who is definitely NOT addicted to drama series of any sorts, I did not bother to look for the DVDs. But the few episodes which I did manage to watch has left a deep impression on me. That was one hell of a good series.

So I was minding my own business one day (and my Nayah's as well) when my divided attention caught a vaguely familiar sound coming out of my television. I have heard the song before, but couldn't place it at the time. My divided attention was soon focused on the screen, and what do you know, a pleasant surprise. 8tv was showing the reruns of the show every weekday. At 3 pm. That was my daughter's naptime. And my mid-day break. I'm in TV heaven.

So I began on a daily routine which, needless to say, two years too late. But a good tv show never grows old or stale. Even then my viewings were choppy. Some afternoons my daughter won't go to sleep. Some afternoons I had to run some errands. But it was good to sit down and watch a good show whenever I had the chance.

So what was it about the show that drew me into it? Was it the oh-so-good-looking cast? Partly. The storyline? Definitely. The characters? Exactly.

Or to be more exact, one character. The scriptwriter Seo Young Eun played by the oh-so-gorgeous Song Yun Ah.

What I like about Young Eun is that she embodies the characteristics of a succesful and brilliant woman, very much accomplished in her career, yet there is an air of vulnerability surrounding her persona. She could be charming, yet arrogant at the same time. She could appear to be mean and calculative at a second, only to be caring and understanding a moment later. She was a complex character, much like a real person. That's why I like her. And Song Yun Ah played her to perfection.

Not to say that the other three leading characters are not good. They are equally good, but Seo Young Eun got to me the most.

I'm still in the process of finishing the series, and maybe this time if I didn;'t I'll get the dvds. By the way the opening and closing theme song isn't half bad. It's called 'One Word' by the vocal group FT Island (or are they a boyband?). And that one word would definitely be LOVE.
